High in the hills above the country township of Kumara, lies the old cemetery. Surrounded by pine plantations, this cemetery contains burials for the many different nationalities who resided in the area in its earliest days; English, Irish, Swiss, Swedish, German, etc. many of whom came to join the gold-rush in the area.
